Postdoc
Research focus • EV-tRNA biology • Characterization of the exRNA epitranscriptome • EV-tRNA and exRNA modifications as biomarkers in cancer Curriculum Vitae Chantal Scheepbouwer obtained her Master’s degree in Oncology with honors from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2016. During her Master’s internhip, she was introduced to extracellular vesicle research in the lab of Prof. Dr. Xandra Breakefield at Massachussetts General Hospital in Boston. She then pursued a PhD in the NeuroOncology Research group supervised by Prof. Dr. Daphne de Jong and Prof. Dr. Peter Vandertop. Her doctoral research mostly focused on developing tools to improve the quantification of full-length mature tRNAs in both tissues and blood-based extracellular vesicles, advancing their potential as disease biomarkers. She returned to the field of extracellular vesicles as a postdoc in the Exosomes Research group, focusing on EV-tRNA and the exRNA epitranscriptome as potential biomarkers in cancer. |
