Robert Elens Research technician Research Focus Immune Metabolic Profiling of multiple myeloma patients.
Curriculum Vitae Robert Elens obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Medical Laboratory Research at Inholland University of applied sciences in 2021. During a ten month internship in 2020 and 2021, he conducted research on genetically engineered brain tumour organoids (GEBTOs) for paediatric supratentorial ependymoma under supervision of dr. Jens Bunt in the group of dr. Marcel Kool at the Princess Máxima Center for pediatric oncology in Utrecht. During a gap year Robert worked as an analyst focussing on immunostaining and HALO image-analysis which led to a co-authorship of Interferon-gamma signature as prognostic and predictive marker in macroscopic stage III melanoma. During his Master’s in Biomedical sciences, Oncology at the University of Amsterdam he joined the group of dr. Rubina Baglio where he investigated therapeutic RNA delivery via exosomes under supervision of PhD student Hilal Nur Sensoy. Afterwards he did a second and final master’s internship at the NKI in the group of Olaf van Tellingen where he worked on in vivo bioavailability of a PI3K inhibitor using LC-MS/MS and in vitro triple-drug combinations using drug screens. Finally he joined the group of dr. Baglio again as a research technician involved in biobanking of multiple myeloma samples and the continuation of his internship project.
